Mysterium is a cooperative party game that requires deduction skills to solve a mystery. It challenges three to seven players to solve a murder that occurred thirty years ago. One player takes on the role of a restless ghost, tasked with communicating the true culprit of their murder to the assembled psychics. The other players all play as psychics, receiving visions and interpreting them to the best of their abilities in order to narrow down the list of suspects. Yet time is in no one’s favor tonight—if the players take too long to discover the truth, the bridge between the worlds is closed, and the ghost must wait another year to reach its eternal rest! In the tradition of games like Dixit, the only way the ghost can communicate with the psychics is through images on a series of cards.
This game won numerous awards in 2015 and was in hot contention for Game of the Year. The theme of the game is brilliant and it does an excellent job of making you feel like you are immersed in a true mystery. The artwork and game components are second to none. It is easily one of our top games of all time and must be experienced. There is a small learning curve but it helps that you will be working together with the other players throughout the game.
