Washington DC’s Tabletop Gaming Convention

September  7-8,  2019

The Northern Virginia Board Game Group is a proud supporter of WashingCon, an annual board game convention in downtown Washington, DC.  Many of our members will be volunteers at this year’s event.  If you are interested in being a volunteer, you can SIGN UP TO GET INVOLVED!

This year’s event will be held on Saturday, September 9th, and Sunday, September 10th, at the Georgetown University Hotel and Conference Center (3800 Reservoir Road, NW Washington, DC 20057).  Weekend tickets only cost $40 for adults if you purchase early.  It is a fun, family-friendly environment and a perfect family event.

What can you do at the convention?  WashingCon started in 2015 and has grown exponentially each year in both attendance and scope.  Hundreds of board games can be learned and played in the main gaming hall areas.  There are special areas for entry-level games, children’s games, quick games, strategy games, RPG games, and much more.  You can learn a new game in the special demo area where games are taught all day long.  The conference also offers a variety of panels and discussions.  Finally, if you are very competitive, you can join one of the many tournaments held each day for games like Catan, Ticket to Ride, Pitch Car, etc.
